We're in Bangkok! The country is in a 'State of Emergency' but.....We're Safe!
Gav: so it's week six I think and everythings FANTASTIC, a few little things aren't so fantastic though. Like running out of sun tan lotion.....the odd cockroach....oh and being a couple of streets away from a military coup in Bangkok. We're staying in the Kho Sahn Road area in a hostel. We heard a bit of 'commotion' (good word) earlier on in the night but put it down to fellow backpackers, Phil alerted us by text and we put the news on and there it was! So all we know at the mo is what we're seeing on bbc online news, where we've been told to stay put. We were supposed to be going up to Chiang Mai in the next few days to do some trekking but that don't look likely now (these Thai military coup organisers are really unthoughful aren't they?). So again we're Safe and well and we'll be keeping you all posted on whats happening. Don't worry!!!!

NB the arch on picture three is a couple of hundred yards away from us and I can see it from the roof where I am now!
PS I am now going back to our room to try to learn that great Macca song 'Pipes of Peace' so then in the morning I can go to the government building with my guitar and try and bring some resolution to this situation...........(altogether now) 'Play the pipes of peace.....play the pipes of peeeeeeaaaaaccccccee'

Ere... Never mind 'Pipes of Peace'. get down there and churn out your new version of 'Hey Jude' for the militants. That should sort out the whole thing in one chorus!!! Glad to hear the repertoire hasn't improved any.
P.S. if anything should go wrong on your peace keeping mission can i have your guitar???
love Kinsey
Thanks for the support mate, it is much appreciated. Maybe I will record the version of Hey Jude and it may turn into a 'Wind of Change' type anthem to bring ubity to this place , can you send us the tab for it and a pro tools file of you whistling for the intro?
I mean unity!
Hi Bro and Sue,
SOngs like Pipes of Peace are not allowed to be sung in China as it stirs the natives and gets on my nerves as well so leave that type in Thailand when come here.Kinsey is right about your repertoire.
Get a photo of you two beside a tank for the blog to prove you are not just writing this from Spain.
