Artsy Fartsy attempt at a serious photo
In Shanghai with buidings behind me
Photo from my previous blog, remember when I thought I could breakdance? Note, not only the bust lip, but also the two lumps on my forehead! I'm pretty sure I broke something up there...when i shake my head now theres a sound like you get when you shake a medicine bottle with only one tablet in....that;ll be my brain then.
Me in Hong Kong Harbour, just like Miami Vice. That ship behind me was HUGE!

Surfing Dude Not!!

It all started so well!! Really enjoyed the surfing and this is where it tragically ended!

I have the lifeguard picking me up each day on the beach in this buggy and dropping me off near the sea...what a service eh! Think I might milk this one for a bit longer!

Photos of the Cool Bananas Gang

Sue: Cool Bananas is the hostel Im staying at in Agnes Waters and these are the motley crew I have met since arriving a couple of weeks ago! Lots of drunken games and beach parties etc
We took over the hostel in style and an invitation into the circle of trust was needed!
Most people have moved on sadly now and there is now 4 girlies left, Jess, Diane, Destiny and me! Need to make some new friends now as we are planning on all staying for another 2/3 weeks...its an amazing place. Days spent at the beach, nights drinking.....its hell!!

Agnes Water and the Town of 1770

Apparently aptly named as this was the second place Captain Cook discovered in 1770!

Its such a small and friendly place where the locals really welcome backpackers!

Its not too much of a commercial place and all the activites here are so much cheaper than anywhere else.

I have had a surfing lesson which was mental! The waves are so strong and powerful that it was totally knackering! We had 3 hours altogether and I really enjoyed it even though I was crap! Ended up getting injured, you know me! I have been hobbling now for the last few days, think I may have strained it..oops! Just goes to show exercise isnt good for ya!

Also been on a plane ride in a Cessna where I was the co pilot and got the chance to drive it down the runway and take over the controls at 2000 feet! Bruce the pilot was crazy and had us doing all sorts of acrobatics in the air, where things were flying around inside the plane above your head! Great!

We landed on this private beach, nobody around and we had oysters that he broke off the rocks and washed....they tasted rancid to be honest but had to try them! Also held a crab! Then it was back home with some more moves in the air! fantastic!
I have met some great people here and we have been hanging around in a big gang, nobody wanted to leave and kept staying for another night and then another! Now there is just 4 of us left so we need to make new friends again! All moved into the same dorm and we intend to take over this hostel again!

I have just noticed I didnt post this earlier, so the update on the foot situation is that its broken!! Nightmare so Im on crutches now for 3 to 4 weeks! So not many activities at the moment, lots of rest and sunbathing....hard life indeed!

Myella Farm Stay

Sue: Spent 2 days/1 night at this working farm where you do all sorts of activities and generally help the owners with their daily chores.
Started the day horse riding and I get a very scary horse that knew he was the boss of me! He even bit another horse whilst we standing looking at some kangaroos skipping around the many acres of land they have. I thought I had mastered horse riding after my last experience, but not at all, I was glad to get back on terra firmer!
We had to wear these very attractive farm clothes too which made us all look like convicts, hence the very attractive orange shirt you can see! Their selection was a cross between Oxfam and a bad taste fancy dress party! Hilarious!
Also had to cook all of our meals on this stove in the ground, it was hard work even to make a brew! It took ages to even cook a cheese toastie, give me a breville grill any day!
Later on the day I went on a 4 Wheel Drive throwing bails of hay off the back of the ute to their 40 horses on the land and then the best job on the farm was feeding the smallest kangaroo I have seen, he climbed into a little peg bag and suckled on a bottle, just like a baby...so cute!See I do have some maternal instincts somewhere!
At night we watched the sunset with the owners home brew beer.
Next day was an early start milking the cows, it was easier than I thought to get the milk, but I would have been there all day just to get a pint of it! Tasted the warm milk too...cant get any fresher than that...hot off the press indeed!

Great Keppel Island

Sue: I spent 5 days on this fantastic island, its very much like Robinson Crusoe where all you do is chill, chill and more chilling! Its a hard life I guess, wondering which way I should lie down on the beach!

It was very quiet and most days there was just me & my pal Di on the beach, didnt see anyone all day! Not a bit like the Med!

We were offered a job there for free accomodation which was quite tempting, 2 hours of cleaning a day...but thought that might be too strenous for me!
